The pens did a real good job of limiting the Sens quality chances. They didn't allow Ottawa to get in the slot a heck of a lot. It also didn't seem like many guys were going to the next so it made it a pretty easy night for Murray.
As nice as the blowout win in game 3 was, it was inevitable that the pens would play strong last night. A team will always respond after a lopsided win one way or another.
Sens always need either Karlsson or Andy to be the first star in order to really have any hope. Last night they both did not have their best games. I don't know how much longer Karlsson can go on one foot, but lets hope a little longer. I was surprised with Andy's play last night as he was positionally sound for 3 games in a row.
I don't think I've ever seen a team this deep in the playoffs which such a bad powerplay. They just can't get anything going. Maybe start declining penalties like football?
Best of 3 should be great. Hopefully Dion can crush Malkin into next week. The guy is a dink and turning into my most hated player in the league. Go Sens Go |

Sens are going to need to start finishing every check they can. When it comes to the Pens the best way to win is to get lots of shots, pressure and finish your checks.
They didn't do it last game. lets hope they can come out strong in Pittsburgh and quiet the crowd fast.... i'm doubtful they will though |

Or Bobby Ryan can just concuss more Pens via flying elbows to the head...the refs don't seem concerned about it, so why not? |

That reaction by Malkin to Dion.
I don't hate the Sens. I just have a soft spot for JR, MS and Geno. Good luck the rest of the way |

or Crosby could chop off another one of Methots fingers, or Kunitz could slash Karlsson a million times.... it's a contact sport... get over it. |

Like I said, it's clear the NHL doesn't care, so why should we? I'm no trying to take a shot at Ryan or the Sens. He knows this stuff isn't getting called, and behaves accordingly. It's human nature, and the NHL allows it to go on. I just hope your attitude doesn't change when someone "accidentally on purpose" takes EK out of the series for reals. |

Cause the Pens have played squeaky clean thus far...
It's the playoffs. Borderline things are let go almost every shift. Both teams are guilty. Personally, I don't really have a problem with it unless the cheap shots turn into Bertuzzi and McSorely type things which I highly doubt. |

Ive never implied they have, or even should, especially since the NHL is apparently down with what goes on every year. As I said, I don't take issue with the Sens doing it...because the NHL allows it. I agree, It's nothing new..we've been playing through it the whole post season and have had more guys lost to "gritty hockey plays" than I care to remember. Personally, I'd rather they call the actual rules they have on the books, but since "it's the playoffs" I will try to just hope Kunitz finally gets a whack on E.K's skate in the right spot to finally send him to the shelf until September or so, since we are all good with it. |

Last night's game was squarely on Andy. The first goal was bad, but the second one was even worse. I have no idea why he would take his foot off the post. Just basic goaltending.
If he make either of those saves, the game is completely different.
On the plus side, through four games, Pittsburgh has dominated nothing. They have played well in stretches, but it's nothing like we saw in games 3/4 vs NY.
If Andy can just save the ones he is supposed to, the Sens should be able to win this. Up till game 6 of the NY series, we were winning in spite of his play. I just hope last night's performance wasn't a sign that he is going back to how he played in the first two rounds. |

Sign of a good side is to play bad & still win. Don't have to dominate anything except the 1 thing that matters - final score.
If anything, it will frustrate the hell out of Ottawa if they do dominate & come up with duck eggs - things will get interesting especially seeing as though by the looks of above comments, 'hockey' plays are being allowed no matter how much 'hockey' is in them! |
